About Skaut ABS

SKAUT – Czech Scouting ABS (hereinafter SKAUT ABS) is an association that builds upon the finest traditions of Czech Scouting, stands on values that have shaped generations of young people for more than a century. We find inspiration in the work of Professor Antonin Benjamin Svojsik (hence the acronym ABS in our name), the founder of Czech scouting, as well asthe influence of other key figures who were unafraid to stand for truth and freedom—whether they were troop leaders, officials, or ordinary scouts who stood at the forefront of resistance and national defense during defining moments in history.

SKAUT ABS was established out of a need to preserve and develop the traditional values of the Scout Movement: honor, service, courage, friendship, and a love for nature. We strive to provide safe space where young people can grow in character, learn independence, and discover the joy of both cooperation and adventure.

Our goal is for scouting to be more than just a leisure activity; it is a way of life that leads to responsibility, a willingness to help others, and the ability to stand up for what is right—just as generations of scouts before us have done.

SKAUT ABS is a community that honors tradition while looking forward. We build on firm foundations to safely guide future generations on their journey of discovering the world, nature, and themselves.

We are proud members of the World Feferation of Independent Scouts (hereinafter WFIS), a membership we have held since 2007. Following an initial two-year probationary period, we have been full members since 2009. For us, this membership has two main sides. The first is our duty to keep Scout traditions and values alive, while making sure they stay relevant today and help prepare young people for the future. The second side is strengthening international sisterhood and brotherhood through personal bonds, Woodbeads courses, and events like EuroCamps and RoverMoots.
